This awesome jpg (click to expand/betterize) was brought to you from scratch using MLB GameDay XML files, mySQL, SQLyog, Excel, and Google Maps. What you see is every batted ball fielded by Jacoby Ellsbury from 2007 to date where he was the center fielder at Fenway Park. Each dot is where he fielded the ball, not where the ball landed. Notice the blue dots in the deep center field nook. Using a standard wooden ruler, I've measured the distance to be approximately seven miles from home plate.
